100 Word Challenge

Major investment banks are failing, the largest insurer in the world gets bailed out/bought out by the feds, but here I am. Seriously, what’s going on at this very moment in America is so scary as to be surreal. Dear reader, if you’re going to vote for McCain/Palin I may have to ask to meet you in person. I just don’t understand it. We are STILL at war with Iraq for reasons that have STILL not been made clear to the American public, the international banking system is failing, this generation will live to see Peak Oil, and the ice caps are melting at an alarming rate. And yet 50% of America is willing to vote into office another four years of ignoring the environment, nay, trashing it, another four years of irresponsible government control, another four years of war mongering, another four years of …no, please, in the name of all that is good, just don’t do it.

Ok, that’s off my chest. I never promised you I wouldn’t talk politics, though that was hardly a blip on the radar. So, come on baby, let’s do the TWIST! My pick of the week is Clint’s piece. There’s something raw about it that hooked me. I don’t know if there’s a way to comment on Stumble Upon blogs or not. If anyone figures it out, let me know.

She thought that they might have meant for it to be a death trap because there were no signs warning drivers of the dangerous curves ahead. Then she thought they might have just been too cowardly to come up here with the steep declines on either side of the road. Or, maybe they just didn’t want to get their hands dirty. She stood there and dug the sign in the dirt for them and for any drivers that might take the road to bypass the ones with heavier traffic. Then she stabbed the ground with a blank cross for herself.

Someone is having an affair with another man in her sleep…visit last week’s comments to read the anonymous 100 word submission on that. Whoever you are anonymous, and I’m not going to try to guess, don’t worry, it’s not cheating if it’s in your dreams.

Speaking of relationships, I’m reading David Deida’s books. Anyone else read them? I’ll be posting on that later, but this week’s word is from the book Dear Lover. Be back tomorrow to catch up on the 100 words on Fusion.

    I really liked the anonymous piece left in the comments. It was very nicely done.

    As for my band… I write about two of them! Trevor and his band, ShapeShifter, have their own following, even.

    At any rate, keep the prompts coming. I’m having a blast with them.
