Velvet Verbosity

Oooo, SHINY! Yes, that’s right. That shiny logo welcomes the first OFFICIAL weekly Velvet Verbosity 100 Word Challenge. You too can have one of these shiny baubles for your sidebar if you would like to participate regularly OR if you are chosen for the 100 Word Weekly Selection. I’ll be making some adjustments to the image accordingly in time for your entries!

The weekly challenge starts on Tuesday and entries are due by Friday. Relax, this isn’t school folks. No need to flashback to giant red F’s on term papers. This is all voluntary and all in FUN. Writing exactly 100 words on a given topic can really exercise your writing muscles.

There are only two rules.

1. Write 100 words, no more and no less.
2. Write 100 words related to the topic.

Submit your entries in the comments either by pasting the entire entry in the comment, but definitely by providing the link to your post. Be as creative as you want. Poetry or prose. Funny or sad. Serious or light. It’s up to you to let the topic inspire you. Use creative fonts and images too if that strikes your fancy. I’ll post all entries on the 100 Words page and announce and feature the weekly selection here on Monday.
